sunday up north

I know it’s cliché, but indeed living in one place for a long time doesn’t mean running out of new places to discover.

This Sunday, we went up and heard mass at the Franciscan Church in Talamban. I was at first hesitant on our way there. The road was rough-and-tumble (as in ‘garunggatod’) for our little old car. But we went on anyway and just drove really slow.

It was all worth it. The church was beautiful that even our little girl looked up and gasped, “Castle!” When I got inside, its altar took my breath away. There was something unique about it. And more than anything else, the church holds one of the most solemn masses I’ve ever been to. The choir was just angelic and I love how the sound reverberates around its walls. And I couldn’t help but smile the entire time I was there. I was amused at the little sacristans the church had. I think they were about 6 to 7 year olds, but were very serious the whole time. Not even an incident, where one of them tasked to move an electric fan accidentally hit his fingers with the fan blades, made them smile, giggle or laugh. Yes, I giggled a little. :hide:

We were there at night time so my phone camera couldn’t really do much justice to a place that looks so beautiful. =(

I’ll take better pictures next time. Perhaps, go there when the sun is still up. =)

The dinner after: an all-time 'reliable' Filipino dinner for mothers on the go like me. =)
